Lara received an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.  She then completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Lara has worked in both hospital settings and outpatient primary care settings, as well as in rural and urban communities.

Lara has been practicing since 2002.

Lara believes that small improvements have the potential to make big differences.
“Do not be sad if you have failed to change the world, be grateful if you had made a difference in one person’s life for one moment.” – Unknown

Professionally:

The most important, and interesting, part of primary care for Lara is working to involve patients in shared decision making conversations to help understand what the patient’s goal is and try to achieve the outcome they are hoping for.

Personally:

Lara has two children, so she tries to stay active to share activities together as a family. They all enjoy climbing, hiking, camping, and skiing.

To stay healthy, Lara strives to eat simply and exercise routinely. With two children, she seems to also be playing catch-up often. Her kids are now shifting from trying to keep up to surpassing her. Getting great sleep is also critical for Lara.
