Matt Harris, PA-C
Matt Harris encourages good health in his patients in more ways than prescribing medicine. Having grown up on a small farm in Indiana, he brings a sense of persistence and resolve to everything he does.
Matt doesn’t shy away from hard work, and his patients appreciate his dogged dedication. See his take on how hard work can lead to healthy rewards.
Matt attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he received a degree in Spanish and Business. He continued his education at the University of Colorado, Denver Physician Assistant Program. Matt began his medical career at a busy community health center in Loveland. It was here that Matt developed a valuable foundation for treating many chronic and acute conditions. After four years, Matt was looking to challenge himself in his career, leading him to become a primary care provider at Kaiser Permanente in Loveland. It was here that he recognized a need for wound care and completed the Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) certificate with the intention to gain his Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) Certificate in the spring of 2020.
Matt is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
Matt has been practicing medicine since 2010.
Matt practices evidence-based medicine yet is still flexible with what can be practically achieved. When it comes to the treatment of one’s health, Matt will ensure that if one approach were cost-prohibitive or not easily accessible, an alternative approach would be considered.
Matt also places a strong focus on nutrition for improving one’s health.
“Promoting a Mediterranean diet has become central to my approach to medicine. I still prescribe all of the evidence-based medicines. But it is with the mindset that via diet changes one can often improve their health to the point they may be able to reduce or eliminate medications.”
Matt puts into practice what he prescribes and eats a Mediterranean diet, enjoying meat from time to time.
To help maintain good physical and mental health Matt enjoys time with his girls, good laughs with friends, craft beer, mountain biking, listening to public radio, Latin dancing and snowboarding.
Matt enjoys continuing to provide and gain experience with wound care. He also strongly encourages healthy diet choices. He also has significant experience performing many procedures including joint injections.
Matt looks forward to spending time with his girls. If he isn’t at home or work, you can find him in the mountains participating in activities like mountain biking, snowboarding or splitboarding (backcountry snowboarding). You can even catch Matt on the dance floor testing out his newest Latin dance moves.
