Dr. Unger grew up in New York and then moved to Florida, where he completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Miami.
After completing residency in Greeley, he and his wife traveled farther west, working in Washington state and Alaska while looking for a place to settle down. They realized that Colorado was the place for them and moved back here in 1997.
For nine years, Dr. Unger worked in north Fort Collins at what is currently the Salud Family Health Center. During that time, he also worked with the Family Medicine Center Residency Program precepting residents in the clinic and hospital. He joined AFM in 2006.
Dr. Unger enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine, including pediatrics, adult medicine, and geriatrics.
When not working, Dr. Unger enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He and his family like to take advantage of the Colorado outdoors in any season.
