Karolyn Martinkus, PA-C
Karolyn Martinkus is always looking to connect with her patients on a personal level. She treats everyone with kindness and will give the best possible care to any patient that walks through AFM’s doors.
Karolyn grew up in Windsor, where she graduated from Windsor High school and continued to Aims Community College to obtain her Associate of Applied Science. She stayed true to Northern Colorado and attended Colorado State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. This led her down her first career path as a phlebotomist. Hungry for more capabilities in the medical world, Karolyn went off to Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where she earned a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. This led her to work in General and Bariatric Surgery and then to Orthopedic Spine Surgery until she changed her career path towards Urgent Care in 2017.
Karolyn has been practicing medicine for 10 years in Colorado.
Karolyn believes that patients should understand their diagnosis and health, every step of the way. Medical jargon can be intimidating but Karolyn is dedicated to simplifying it.
“My viewpoint of medicine is to keep it simple for the patients to understand and share in on the decision-making process.”
Biking, swimming, and jogging, oh my! Karolyn is a true Northern Coloradoan when it comes to staying healthy. She also makes sure her two rescue dogs, Olivia and Baxter, are healthy with long walks through the neighborhood.
Karolyn likes to see it all. She has had several career changes within the medical world and loves how ever-changing the Urgent Care environment is.
Karolyn loves to spend time with her family, which consists of her husband, son and two dogs. If she isn’t volunteering at her son’s school or delivering for Meals on Wheels, you might find her gardening. Cooking is another way Karolyn spends time with her family and uses up her vegetables and herbs from the garden.
