Dyan Thompson, FNP-C
Dyan Thompson values working together with her patients to encourage a healthy, happy life. She deeply values the patient-provider relationship and feels very strongly that a team approach (between patient and provider) is essential in creating goals, achieving positive outcomes, and establishing healthy lifestyle choices.
Dyan was an RN for 24 years when she went back to get her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and became a Family Nurse Practitioner through the University of Wyoming. She enjoys working with a variety of people, but has a lot of experience with pediatrics, family health, and OB education.
“I believe in a holistic approach to medicine, considering all aspects of a person to gain optimal health and wellness. I also feel very strongly that a team approach between patient and provider is essential in creating goals and healthy outcomes. I encourage preventative medicine, especially through healthy lifestyle choices. I value the relationship that develops between patients and provider, and I appreciate when patients are motivated to take charge of their health.”
Dyan stays healthy by trying to balance these priorities in her life:
• Working hard
• Being active through sports
• Enjoying her family
She is an avid runner and enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and skiing.
Dyan enjoys working across the wide spectrum of family care, but her special interests in medicine include:
• Women’s health
• Adolescent care
• Pediatric care
Outside of the clinic, her personal interests include:
• Enjoying the outdoors
• Serving in church activities and local charities
• Enjoying her family (husband, Cole, five children, and two grandchildren)
• Working on her ranch north of LaPorte with a variety of animals (llamas, donkeys, chickens, dogs, and cats)
