Christine partners with her patients on achieving and maintaining their individual health goals, while delivering holistic medicine. She is dedicated to her patients through and through.
Christine Shoaf graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. Shortly after graduating, Christine was drawn back to her Southern roots and made the move to Nashville to start her position as a research analyst at Vanderbilt’s Institute for Public Health. After a few years in public health research, Christine attended Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing. Christine attributes her holistic approach to care to Vanderbilt’s interprofessional team approach.
Before moving to Colorado, Christine had been working as a family nurse practitioner at a federally qualified Community Health Center in rural Virginia.
Christine has been practicing medicine since 2016.
Teamwork makes the dream work, according to Christine,
“I believe medicine works best when patients and providers work together as one team. I want my patients to be fully engaged in their care by providing frequent opportunities for shared medical decision making.”
She makes sure to utilize all of AFM’s resources, like our clinical pharmacists and care coordinators, when it is necessary. Delivering the best patient care is the utmost priority.
Christine also believes that regular exercise and fueling your body with the correct nutrients leads to a happier and healthier life. She enjoys educating and encouraging her patients to take meaningful steps to achieve a healthy lifestyle all while keeping their individual values at the forefront of their plan of care.
Christine is constantly on the move. She enjoys biking, running and hiking but is generally thrilled to just be outside doing something active. When the sun’s not out or the temperature drops below freezing, you might catch Christine at a kickboxing class, spinning class or weightlifting classes.
Most weekends you can find her with her family exploring a new trail. Her favorite trail in Colorado is the Horsetooth Falls Loop trail!
Christine is passionate about helping patients with mental health concerns, keeping kids healthy with well-child visits, family planning and helping patients make lifestyle changes to help maintain or improve their chronic conditions.
Christine’s family is soaking in all of the Fort Collins culture by trying new restaurants, breweries or a concert in one of the many cool venues.
