Mindful Carb Counting

We want you to feel your best, be able to do the things you enjoy, and decrease your risk for developing complications from diabetes. In this class, you’ll learn about carb counting techniques and meal planning for your specific nutritional needs from AFM’s Care Coordinators.

*This class is specifically tailored for individuals who are at risk for, or have been diagnosed with, diabetes. Talk with your AFM provider to learn if you may benefit from this class!

Class Topics:
Carbohydrate counting or “carb counting,” is a technique for keeping track of how much carbohydrate you eat to help manage your blood glucose levels in a way that works for you. Learn how many calories and carbs you should be eating based on your age, weight, activity, and glucose level
• Meal Planning is a way to find a balance with food and snacks that works for you. Come up with a plan that fits with your schedule, eating habits, and nutritional needs.

Cost: $36. However, most major insurances will cover some, if not all, of this medical appointment. Contact your insurance to determine what your insurance covers for a nurse visit.
